Basic principle of rotary cutting machine

The appearance of rotary cutting machine not only improves the quality and precision of veneer production, but also greatly improves the production efficiency and the degree of automation of the whole machine. Rotary cutting machine is one of the main equipment for plywood production. Rotary cutting machine is divided into card rotary cutting machine, and non card rotary cutting machine, with card rotary cutting machine is suitable for large diameter wood, non card use for small diameter wood.

The rotary cutter is used to cut wood into veneers. The general method of rotary cutting is as follows: the left and right clamping shafts clamp the two ends of the wood section and drive it to rotate. The blade of the rotary cutter installed on the cutter bed is parallel to the axis of the clamping shaft and makes feed movement along its vertical direction, and spins out veneers with equal thickness along the direction of wood section annual ring.

In order to obtain the veneer with a certain thickness, the feed rate of the cutter bed should be kept constant for each rotation of the chuck, and the feed rate should be equal to the nominal thickness of the veneer. By changing this feed rate, veneers of different thickness can be obtained.
