Similarities and differences between planer and automatic rotary cutting line

Wood planing and cutting machine is the main facility to produce veneer and veneer.

Rotary cutting machine is one of the most important facilities for veneer production. To some extent, it is more widely used than planer. Two types of automatic rotary cutting can be divided into two types according to whether the center line and the large section can be rotated automatically. The concentric rotary cutting machine is divided into two kinds, namely, the rotary cutting machine with clamping shaft and the rotary cutting machine without clamping shaft.

Eccentric rotary cutting can obtain beautiful radial lines, but the output rate is lower than concentric rotary cutting. Generally speaking, the rotary cutter has high density and structure analysis, so the wood must be centring before starting the machine. If the centering is not correct, intermittent veneer strip or narrow veneer will be spun out at the beginning of rotary cutting.

The more broken veneer or narrow veneer, the higher the loss of sapwood veneer with good material, which affects the sustainability of automatic rotary cutting line production. The veneer that is easy to spin out is broken veneer due to wood bending, curved section and large and small ends (sharp taper) on both sides, which wastes wood by 4-foot-8-foot rounder. Moreover, when the diameter of the log decreases to a certain extent, it is not possible to continue the rotary cutting (that is to say, the core is left to waste wood resources).

Cause analysis: the straightness of the rotary cutter is poor; the radial vibration of single or double roller is out of tolerance; the relative height of the blade of the rotary cutter is too low or the gap is too small. Elimination method: grind the rotary knife from the new edge, and check the straightness of the blade. Change the blade of the rotary cutter to the appropriate width, and reasonably arrange and adjust the slit to make the slit consistent with the thickness of the veneer.

Product quality defects or common faults: the surface of veneer in automatic rotary cutting line is uneven. Check whether the supporting rolling bearing of single flower roller and double flower roller is damaged or the radial clearance is too large. If it is, replace the support point bearing; otherwise, replace the single flower roller and double flower roller.
